So we took Hailey to her first art show last night. She’s a very cultured baby, you know! Aunt Diane (www.studiodiane.blogspot.com) was showing pieces at the Melrose Art Festival, so we took her to see it all. She loved looking at all the colors and paintings, and people loved looking at her. We had a nice night out, since it was a catered affair and we even had a few glasses of wine! It was great to see relatives there too.
Maybe she will grow up to be an artist!

Okay, I’m trying to keep up with this now, since she’s changing all the time. She’s now 11 pounds and sleeps through most nights (10:30pm- 8am)!

I went to Matty’s wake yesterday. It was amazing- the funeral home had people there from 3-9:30. Matty touched so many lives in his 7 and a half years.
I won’t tell everyone about it, but please hug your kids, parents, friends for me today. No matter what argument you’ve been having or how much you hate to hug, just do it. I have been. A lot.

Hailey went to bed last night at 9:30. This part of my plan to make it easier on Evan when I go back to work in a few short weeks. This backfired, though, since she woke up at 1 and 5:30. Normal, I know, but if she keeps it up, we will have a cranky daddy on our hands!
I swear Hailey manipulates us into picking her up. This morning I put her in her swing and ran into the bathroom to brush my teeth. As soon as the toothpaste hit the brush, she started to wail…. It’s a good thing that the “brain researchers” say it’s good to hold and cuddle our babies.
As a side note, some of you know about my little patient, Matty. Unfortunately, he earned his angel wings on Sunday night. I’m pretty sure Evan and I will be doing the Miles For Miracles walk again this year in his memory and in honor of all my other patients. Details will follow.

Okay, this was a rough weekend… Hailey decided that sleep was NOT an option Friday night… She had a busy day on Friday going to the Flower Show and then visiting with one of “The Aunties”. Then she refused to nap…. and refused to go to bed. At 5 am, Evan finally got her to sleep! So we got up late and drove to Maine to visit with Memere! She’s been napping well on Saturday and Sunday, so knock on wood, it was just a one night thing!

Wow, Hailey’s more than 2 months old already! Sorry for the delay in posts- we’ve been busy getting into a real routine. Hailey’s a very smiley little girl who’s just starting to make all kinds of noises! She has lots of head control and uses it to be curious about everything. She smiles at people other than Evan and I if she’s in a good mood. I’m thrilled about the improving weather (except there was that random nor’easter this week), because we’ve been getting out on nice long walks.
